LASIK Cost
Factors That Affect LASIK Cost
Degree of Refractive Error
In general, the more severe your refractive error, the more you can expect to pay for LASIK.
The Laser Technology Used
We use state-of-the-art technology to provide bladeless LASIK surgery to all of our patients. That means that instead of using a blade to create the corneal flap, we use a laser. High-tech tools can help us precisely analyze your cornea, and blade-free surgery reduces the risk of infection.
The Surgeon's Experience
Our surgeons have more than 35 years of combined experience. Although a more experienced doctor may charge a higher price than a less experienced doctor, the likelihood of an excellent outcome through laser vision correction is greater.
Location
Vision correction in cities will cost more than in smaller towns. Our experienced surgeons in Indiana provide LASIK surgery of the highest quality and safety, and it will cost less than what doctors in large metro areas with greater overhead expenses charge for the procedure.

Use Caution When You See an Incredibly Low LASIK Price
If you see an advertised price of LASIK surgery that seems too good to be true, it probably is. It pays to be aware of the risks of choosing a practice with "bargain" pricing:
Bait and Switch
Some LASIK providers may advertise an unusually low LASIK cost to get you in the door. But in many cases, patients soon find out they don't qualify for the special pricing due to any number of factors, and a not-so-spectacular price becomes the reality they now face.
Outdated Technology
Older technology is cheaper for eye surgeons, but may not deliver the same results as newer, more advanced LASIK technology. Our ophthalmology offices in Merrillville and Hobart, IN, only uses the latest LASIK technology.
Lack of Safety Measures
Outdated technology is often less safe than state-of-the-art tools. The price made possible by old technology may seem tempting, but it's just not worth putting one of your most valuable assets at risk.
Low Success Rates
Some LASIK treatment centers may hide their low success rate. Patients may have to return to the office multiple times for enhancement procedures, costing you more in the long run. Get it done right the first time by a practice that refuses to compromise patient safety or satisfaction in the interest of lowering the overhead cost of a LASIK procedure.
"I can focus on a blade of grass driving down the road!" 5-Star Reviews From Merrillville and Hobart, IN, Patients
I went in today for a typical check up after cataract surgery a couple of years back with Dr. Gross. At that time, I had high intraocular pressure and was taking glaucoma-type eye drops to lower that pressure. Dr. Gross suggested iStents at that time and I have been free of eye drops and remain at a normal pressure--no longer glaucoma high. That was a win! Today was another win. My right eye was losing a little clarity due to some growth over the lens after the cataract surgery. Dr. Gross did on- the-spot laser surgery today, and I can see like I did when I was a kid. I can focus on a blade of grass driving down the road!
View on GoogleMy Husband Robert Lietz went to Dr. Gross for an exam and discovered he had Cataracts. Dr. Gross got him in for surgery and Bob was walking around without glasses and able to watch TV and read the newspaper in a matter of days. We are administering drops a couple times a day with an instruction sheet that is easy to read on when and how many times a day to put the drops in. I love Dr Gross. He is gentle and caring and not rushed in any way when listening to any questions we have. So if anyone out there needs to look into problems they are having with their eyes. Dr. Gross is the best.
